What cookies we use, why, and how you can manage them.

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies this website uses, what they do, and how you control them. We ask for your permission before anything non-essential is set. Nothing optional loads until you choose.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files, and similar technologies such as browser storage, that a website saves on your device. They are used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to understand how a site is used.
How we ask for consent
On your first visit you will see a banner with three equal choices: Accept all, Reject all, or Manage preferences to choose by category. Optional cookies are off by default and are only set after you opt in. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the button above or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
The categories we use
Necessary (always on)
These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They do not track you.
- Cookie choice (browser storage, "ps-cookie-consent"). Remembers the consent choices you made, and when, so we do not ask again on every page.
- Theme preference (browser storage, "ps-theme"). Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
- Editor session (cookie, "psd_session"). Only set inside the private admin area to keep our team logged in while editing. Never set for visitors.
Statistics (optional, off by default)
Helps us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Only set if you opt in.
- Google Analytics 4, loaded via Google Tag Manager. Sets cookies beginning "_ga" (typically lasting up to 13 months) to recognise returning visits and measure page views, anonymously and in aggregate. Provider: Google Ireland Ltd. See Google’s privacy policy.
- Sentry error monitoring. If something on the site breaks, a technical error report (browser and page, no personal details) is sent to Sentry so we can fix it. Provider: Functional Software Inc., EU region. See Sentry’s privacy policy.
Marketing (optional, off by default)
Used for embedded third-party content and to measure whether our advertising works. Only set if you opt in.
- Google Maps on our contact page. The map is shown as a placeholder until you allow it; when loaded, Google may set its own cookies. Provider: Google Ireland Ltd.
- Google Ads measurement (where used), via Google Tag Manager, to understand whether our ads lead to enquiries.
Google Consent Mode
We use Google Consent Mode v2. This tells Google tags what you have and have not consented to. Before you choose, every Google signal is set to "denied"; they are only updated to "granted" for the categories you accept.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also control or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser settings at any time. Removing the stored values above simply means the site will forget your theme choice and show the cookie banner again. Blocking essential items may affect how the site works.
Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy as the site changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and if what we collect changes materially we will ask for your consent again.
